FLOWERS + VIP MEMBERSHIP FOR A CUSTOMER’S SICK MOTHER

While Zappos customer service stories require a set of dedicated posts, we had to share one or our all-time favorites here! A customer’s mom was suffering from numb and sensitive feet from pressure resulting from a recent medical treatment (which also left most of her shoes completely useless). She ordered her six pairs of shoes from Zappos, in the hopes that at least one of them would alleviate some of her pain. However, none of the shoes worked for her mother who called Zappos customer service for instructions on how to return them. Not surprisingly (because this Zappos customer service after all), she received a large bouquet of flowers two days later wishing her well and hopes of a fast recovery from her treatments. In addition, two days later, the customer, her mother and her sister were all upgraded to “Zappos VIP Members,” which grants them all free expedited shipping on all orders.
