We all remember the “Do us a flavor” marketing-genius campaign by Lay’s that leveraged social media to spread the word and gain a larger market share. We all got in on it and have tasted some incredibly creative (and sometimes bizarre) flavors like Sriracha, Wasabi Ginger, Southern Biscuits and Gravy!

Lay’s did it again with another brilliant viral marketing campaign in April, 2018! Only this time, they used their digital footprint to change the world. Check out ‘Smile with Lay’s,’ the brand’s endeavor that had a charitable component tied to it: for every purchase of a specially marked bag, a donation was made to Operation Smile, a global charity that provides surgical care in developing countries to children and young adults who suffer from cleft conditions. Lay’s promised to donate up to $1m to the cause throughout the duration of the campaign, which ran through April 7. Check out some of the smiles shared on Twitter here.
